Pine Street and the Mirrors of Freedom
Pine Street is studying to become a professional acrobat when he hears that Queenie has been stolen from the zoo. He rushes to be with his friends and discovers that the truth is even worse than he imagined. The mutation is ill and will die if she doesn’t receive genetically specific medication.
The lifesaving medicine can only be created by someone far away, near the border of the Outer Territories. Pine volunteers to go on a cross-country quest to obtain this elixir. This is counter to government edicts and the investigating agents already believe that his friends are behind Queenie’s disappearance. If the truth is discovered, he and his friends will end up in a prison work camp… or worse. When government agents come after him, he must make a decision - save himself or continue to try to help the sick mutation.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t know who has Queenie… where she is… or even if she is still alive.
In the final book of the Pine Street trilogy, Pine struggles to survive in an increasingly authoritarian world. Aided by a revolutionary, underground society, he tries to liberate Queenie, his friends… and himself.
